Reception

In Reception we aim to provide a nurturing and stimulating environment, in which our children develop a love of learning. We want every child to feel confident to have a go at their learning. We look for opportunities to plan for purposeful play activities, to engage them in their learning.

Reading

Children are expected to read at home daily. Please sign and make a comment in your child’s reading record book. Book bags should also be brought to school everyday.

Phonic books:

The phonic books reinforce the sounds that children are learning during the week.

Word books:

Children are given words which can be sounded out and read and also words which need to be read by sight. Once your child has mastered the words they will be given new words to learn.

P.E.

P.E is on Thursday. Children should come to school in their school uniform and bring a PE kit (white top and black bottoms with trainers/plimsolls) to change into.
